Guest Tellers

Sonny Egan

Storyteller and Singer

For years, Sonny’s home was open to locals and strangers dropping in for tea and a chat and soon developed into a rambling house. Musicians and storytellers came from all parts to reinstate a traditional way of life that was once prevalent in Kerry. He was recognised, and the rambling house became a tourist attraction and has since welcomed people from Japan, America, Australia and Germany.

Killian Burns

Storyteller and musician

Sneem native Killian Burns, son of festival founder Batt, has been storytelling at our festival for a few years now – co-performing with guest tellers on opening day as well as hosting some of our Story Swap events.  Killian is also a traditional musician (button accordion) who has accompanied the South Kerry Rosen Choir at one of their festival concerts. You can look forward to seeing Killian perform at various events over the weekend

Paddy Regan

Paddy Regan

Paddy Regan has been telling stories for over thirty years and classes himself as a “Contemporary Seanachai and Raconteur”.  As he says himself, he merely comments on the foibles, idiosyncrasies and peccadilloes that afflict the modern human condition.

With a gift for accents and a talent for characterisation, his sessions are usually fun, uproarious events that will have you in fits of laughter as you recognise people you know in the “characters” that populate his stories.  With his energetic, fast moving style audience members sometimes also wind up as part of the performance.
